Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist

I am a qualified Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist. I am a registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and am bound by its Ethical Principles
and Code of Professional Conduct.

I have experience of working therapeutically within the NHS, education (school and university), and privately.

I offer short-term and long-term therapy to adults; specialising in the following areas of concern:

  • General anxiety and depression
  • Low self esteem or a feeling that their sense of self-identity is poor or impaired
  • Difficulties in relating to other people
  • Grief, loss and bereavement
  • Experiencing abuse now, or who have experienced physical or sexual abuse
  • in their childhoods

I also work with more general problems. Often, a person seeks help for a particular
reason and during the therapy process other issues may surface.

My consultation room is located in a quiet rural location at Whitfield, near Dover, and
offers a safe confidential setting in which you can express feelings and thoughts and
where we can explore your experiences using the ideas and methods developed within Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy.

Using our developing therapeutic relationship, you will begin to feel more in control of
difficult feelings or beliefs as you discover why they exist and it is from this position
of discovery that you will move to a position of autonomy and be able to make
different, perhaps even better choices for yourself and your life.
